In “A standardized citation metrics author database annotated for scientific field” published in PLOS Biology Dr. Virender Sharma, professor at the Texas A&M School of Public Health, has been ranked 80th in the world in the field of Environmental Science.
The publicly available data-base of 100,000 top scientists provides standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator.
Dr. Sharma was named the 2019 Outstanding Distinguished Scientist by Texas A&M University’s research honor society Sigma Xi. His areas of research interests include chemistry and applications of ferrates; inactivation of virus, bacteria and toxins in water and air; removal of emerging contaminants such as antibiotics, estrogens and toxic metals in water; formation, fate and toxicity of silver and gold engineered and natural nanoparticles in aquatic environments; and applications to ferrites to destroy toxins and pollutants under solar light.
