The Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine Now Accepting Applications for 2016-2017 Class

The Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine® program is now accepting applications for its 2016-2017 class through an online application process. This presents a great opportunity for institutions to sponsor a talented woman leader in a fellowship that both strengthens her leadership skills and in turn her institution’s capacity for innovation.

Since 1995, ELAM® has enrolled nearly 1,000 women leaders in academic medicine, dentistry, and public health. More than 50 percent of them currently hold senior administrative positions ranging from department chair to dean, center director to provost and president, at more than 230 institutions of higher education and health care in the United States and Canada.

ELAM’s curriculum advances knowledge and skills in strategic finance, personal and professional leadership effectiveness, community-building and academic organizational dynamics by applying readings and classroom instruction to leadership work with senior mentors in each of the sponsoring organizations. Upon graduation, each ELAM fellow becomes part of an international network of alumnae who continue to support each other and their organizations.
