On July 22, Ms. Tracie Seward, senior director for outreach and recruitment, represented ASPPH’s This Is Public Health brand on a panel at the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) annual meeting. Titled, #FoodSafety: Practical Advice for Digital Communication and Science Storytelling, the panelists discussed how to utilize social media to share scientific findings with the public. Ms. Seward was joined by fellow panelists: Mr. Michael Batz, U.S. Food & Drug Administration; Dr. Benjamin Chapman, NC State University; Dr. Aubrey Paris, Institute on Science for Global Policy; and Mr. Adam Yee, My Food Job Rocks!. The panel was organized by Ms. Katie Overbey, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health; Dr. Minh Duong, NC State University; Ms. Mary Yavelak, NC State University; Ms. Stephanie Brown, University of Connecticut Department of Animal Science; and Dr. Lily Yang, Virginia Tech.
