Congratulations to Dr. Matthew Musselman, Touro University California MPH/DO Class of 2020 who is the recipient of the U.S. National Health Service’s 2019 Excellence in Public Health Award given annually to an outstanding medical student. This award is in recognition of Matthew’s advocacy for health equity, his work to eliminate health disparities and to create social and physical environments that promote health for all.
Dr. Musselman’s advocacy work during his studies at Touro has included organizing a Die-In against Police Violence in solidarity with White Coats for Black Lives. He served on the Student Government Association Diversity & Inclusion Committee and was part of the student team that introduced Structural Competency into the medical curriculum at Touro.
