Dr. L. Faye Grimsley, associate professor in the department of global environmental health sciences at the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, is one of 12 new fellows to the American Industrial Hygiene Association.
Dr. Grimsley was nominated by the Fellows Special Interest Group, a forum for dialogue among AIHA fellows. The fellow designation was established to recognize AIHA members who have been full members in good standing for 15 years of continuous membership and have made recognized contributions to industrial hygiene or related disciplines, either through research, leadership, publications, education or service to AIHA. The fellow designation is limited to no more than 5 percent of the membership.
The new fellows will be honored during the first annual Mark of Excellence Awards Breakfast on Wednesday, June 3 at the 2015 American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will receive their award on Wednesday afternoon at a meeting of the AIHA Fellows Special Interest Group.
Dr. Grimsley has been a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association for 25 years. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene and a member of Delta Omega, and has received numerous awards during her career. She earned her master of science in public health in industrial hygiene from the University of Alabama and her PhD in environmental and industrial hygiene from the University of Cincinnati.
