“I pride myself on service to others, so hearing I was acknowledged as a Rising Star of Health Care was both humbling and rewarding. When people think of health care providers they don’t typically think of academic researchers. However, PhDs are becoming an integral piece of many health care settings. Researchers can apply their scientific background to improving the physical and mental well-being of others,” says Dr. Goldsby.
Her major research projects are focused on physical activity measurement, exercise testing/ prescription, and nutrition counseling for adults and pediatric populations in an effort to combat obesity.
