UCLA: Reports California’s Uninsured Remains at Historic Low

A recent analysis by the UCLA Jonathan and Karin Fielding School of Public Health’s Center for Health Policy Research (CHPR) that found the uninsured rate for Californians under age 65 was nearly halved between 2013 and 2018, in stark contrast to the increase in national rates of Americans without health insurance, which rose from 7.9 in 2017 to 8.5 in 2018 — the first year-to-year increase since 2009. The work was spotlighted in the Autumn/Winter 2019 edition of UCLA Public Health magazine.
