Dr. Gary Slutkin, research professor and founder of Cure Violence, is one of three social entrepreneurs who were honored on September 26 with the 2013 In Harmony with Hope® Award from Elfenworks, an organization that fosters creative and technology solutions that advance change. Cure Violence, a program within the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health, views violence as a contagious disease and takes a public health approach to reducing it. In 2013, Cure Violence again made the Global Journal’s list of Top 100 NGO’s.
