Ms. Kate Hayes, a doctoral candidate, was the winning presenter in the “ACSM President’s Cup,” a competition of research poster presentations at the meeting. The award includes a travel grant of $1200 as well as the registration fee for Ms. Hayes to attend the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) 64th Annual Meeting May 30 – June 3, 2017 in Denver.
NEACSM awarded graduate student Ms. Erica Casto the 2016 Student Investigator Masters Award, which is awarded to an outstanding master’s student presenting an abstract at the annual meeting. The award includes a $500 prize.
“Congratulations to our students who represented us so well at NEACSM,” says department chair Dr. Catrine Tudor-Locke. “Their success is a direct reflection of our excellent faculty who prepare and support them in multiple ways.”
“What a showing for UMass Amherst!” says NEACSM executive director Dr. Dino Costanzo. “Congratulations to your students.”
