The fifth annual Undergraduate Public Health and Global Health Education Summit co-sponsored by the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) and ASPPH, took place on Sunday, March 20, 2016 in Arlington, Virginia. There were over 200 participants representing nearly 150 organizations from 42 states and 7 countries who attended sessions addressing issues such as program development, pathways to public health education, innovative instructional strategies, field experiences, and CEPH SBP accreditation criteria. The keynote presentation, Using Mass Media to Advance the Public Health Agenda, by Dr. Thomas Farley, Health Commissioner for the City of Philadelphia was memorable and thought-provoking. ASPPH was pleased to award Dr. Sara Mackenzie, University of Washington School of Public Health, with the Riegelman Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Public Health Education with Dr. Richard and Mrs. Linda Riegelman both in attendance.
