More specifically, Dr. Hutson will participate in the scientific review portion of a NCATS special emphasis panel, tasked with reviewing grant applications for the development of Trial Innovation Centers (TICs) as part of the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) program.  Dr. Hutson will begin serving on the panel in February.

The primary objective of the TICs and the integration of CTSA Hubs into a network is to develop, demonstrate and disseminate innovative ways to increase the quality and efficiency of multi-site clinical research.

“To be asked to serve in a role of such high importance for the NIH is quite an honor,” says Dr. Hutson.  “I look forward contributing as a panelist during this grant review process.”

Dr. Hutson’s research interests include bioinformatics, clinical trials, computational methods and order statistics.  In addition to his appointment as chair in the Department of Biostatistics at the University at Buffalo, Dr. Hutson is also the chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.  He received his doctoral degree in statistics from the University of Rochester.
