Three faculty from the University at Buffalo School of Public Health and Health Professions have been named to editorships and as conference keynote speakers:
- Dr. David Hostler, chair and professor, Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences, is now the chief editor of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Journal. The journal, one of only two devoted exclusively to the topic, is published bi-monthly and is peer reviewed. It began publishing in 1974.
- Dr. Marianthi Markatou, associate chair of research and healthcare informatics in the Department of Biostatistics, will be a keynote presenter during “NERCCS 2020: The Third Northeast Regional Conference on Complex Systems.” NERCCS takes place online, April 2 and 3. The conference is an interdisciplinary scholarly exchange for complex-systems researchers in the northeast region of the United States. Dr. Markatou’s talk is titled Evidence and Uncertainty for Complex Health Interventions in Complex Health Systems.
- Dr. Lili Tian, director of graduate studies, associate chair and professor, Department of Biostatistics, will become one of three co-editors for the journal SMMR–Statistical Methods in Medical Research beginning January 2021. SMMR is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal and the leading vehicle for articles in the main areas of medical statistics.
