UTexas, Galveston Faculty Receives Aerospace Medical Association Award

University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston Graduate Program in Public Health faculty receives a national award from the Aerospace Medical Association at their annual scientific meeting in April. Dr. James M. Vanderploeg, professor and director of Clinical Preventive Medicine, UTexas, Galveston, received the Aerospace Medicine Association Joe Kerwin Award. This award was established in honor of Dr. Joseph P. Kerwin, the first physician/astronaut.  It is presented for advances in the understanding of human physiology during spaceflight and innovation in the practice of space medicine to support optimal human health and performance in space.
