Dr. Deanna Hoelscher, has been elected a fellow of the International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA). The prestigious honor is given to ISBNPA members who have been particularly active and influential in the society and their respective fields of nutrition and physical activity research. Hoelscher joins two other 2015 elected fellows, Dr. Pedro Teixeira of the University of Lisbon, and Dr. Frank van Lenthe, former editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity.
The fellows were announced earlier this summer at the 2015 ISBNPA annual meeting in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Dr. Hoelscher has held several positions at ISBNPA since its organization in 2002, including serving as the society’s president from 2012 to 2014. She is the director of the Michael & Susan Dell Center for Healthy Living at The University of Texas School of Public Health Austin Regional Campus.
