Washington: Biostatistics Professor Elected to National Academy of Medicine

Dr. Elizabeth “Betz” Halloran, professor of biostatistics and epidemiology at the University of Washington School of Public Health, was elected to the prestigious National Academy of Medicine.

Dr. Halloran is a pioneer in the field of designing and analyzing vaccine studies, and her work has helped scientists and public health officials figure how to stop the spread of deadly infectious diseases.

She is one of 100 new members announced Monday, Oct. 21, during the Academy’s annual meeting. The distinction recognizes outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service and is considered one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine.
