As part of National Public Health Week, the University of Washington School of Public Health is lending a helping hand to provide healthy meals for families in Seattle. During a “Day of Service” on April 8, students, faculty, and staff will come together to volunteer at Food Lifeline. The nonprofit organization rescues surplus food from farmers, grocery stores and restaurants, and delivers the food to 275 food banks, shelters and meal programs across Western Washington. The organization provides 90,000 meals to families every day.
