Washington Professor Receives National Maternal Child Health Honor

Dr. Maxine Hayes, clinical professor of health services at the University of Washington School of Public Health, received the 2014 Vince Hutchins Leadership Award from the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs. The award recognizes national leaders with a long record of significant contributions to society and demonstrated accomplishments that advance the health of women, children and youth. Dr. Hayes recently retired as Washington State Health Officer – the state’s top public health physician – after 16 years. She is also a clinical professor of pediatrics.
