Washington Researcher Leads Study on Global Smoking Trends

Nearly one billion people are smoking across the globe, according to a new study from the University of Washington. Dr. Marie Ng, assistant professor of global health at the University of Washington School of Public Health, was lead author of the landmark study on global smoking trends. It was part of a package of articles in The Journal of the American Medical Association marking the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Surgeon General’s report on the health risks of smoking.
