The Washington University in St. Louis Brown School MPH program recently announced that it will be requiring all students to take the Certified in Public Health (CPH) exam beginning with cohort entering the program in fall 2018. “The CPH exam offers a terrific opportunity to comprehensively assess student learning on core public health concepts and methods. It also provides the student with a valuable credential in terms of their professional advancement in public health,” says Associate Dean for Public Health at the Brown School Lora Iannotti.
WashU is the eleventh CEPH-accredited institution to require its students to take the CPH exam. Other schools and programs with this requirement are:
Designated faculty and staff at CEPH-accredited and CEPH-applicant schools and programs are able to view individual and aggregate scores of their students and alumni through an online portal. The portal allows the schools and programs to compare their student and alumni scores with the average of all schools and programs. This information provides a unique opportunity for assessment program outcomes.
