The Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis and it’s student group, Advocacy and Learning for Public Health Action (ALPHA) will be offering a variety of programs and events to mark National Public Health Week. Among them:
- Emerging Trends in Healthcare Innovation, Research and Delivery, a panel discussion.
- Global Health Conversations: Public health implications of the refugee crisis in Syria (organized by Global Health at Brown).
- “Rethinking Global Suicides,” a presentation by Dr. Michael R. Phillips, Director, Suicide Research and Prevention Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Data suggests that alternative models are needed to understand and prevent suicidal behavior around the world.
- The ethics of organ donation, a presentation by Dr. Bahar Bastani.
