WashU Studies “Complete Streets” Success in Topeka

A clear definition of “Complete Streets” and stories about its successes were crucial to the adoption of a resolution supporting the concept in Topeka, KS, according to a new study by the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. Complete Streets aims to offer safe, accessible spaces for all road users, including pedestrians and cyclists, through the use of elements such as sidewalks, curb cuts, and designated bike lanes. The study was published in Preventing Chronic Disease.
