Yale Finds Alzheimer’s Care Eased among Couples with Loving Bond

Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease is difficult under any circumstance, but couples with relationships marked by compassionate love fare much better emotionally than others as they deal with the challenges of the disease. New research led by Dr. Joan K. Monin, assistant professor at the Yale School of Public Health, studied 58 people with Alzheimer’s disease, the most common form of dementia, as well as their spousal caregivers.
