Yale: N. Deziel Named to NAS Standing Committee

Yale School of Public Health assistant professor, Dr. Nicole Deziel, has been named to the National Academies of Science (NAS) standing committee on Emerging Science for Environmental Health Decisions (ESEHD). The charge of this committee is to facilitate public discussion on new science, tools, and research methodologies to inform environmental health decision-making. Recent workshops organized by the ESEHD committee have tackled microplastics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the intersection of environmental stressors and infectious diseases.

“I am enthusiastic about contributing to this inter-disciplinary committee of diverse stakeholders and perspectives. The workshops convened by this committee are on the forefront of scientific advancements that can address complex environmental health issues and improve public health protections,” Dr. Deziel said.  She joins YSPH faculty Dr. Gary Ginsberg on this committee.
