Dr. Rafael Pérez-Escamilla, PhD, Professor of Epidemiology (Chronic Diseases) and Director of the Office of Public Health Practice and Global Health Concentration at the Yale School of Public Health, was bestowed the Doctorate Honoris Causa by the chancellor of the University of Guadalajara at a ceremony held on February 26. This is the university’s highest honor, and it was awarded in recognition of Dr. Pérez-Escamilla’s global contributions to the fields of maternal-child nutrition, household food security and community health.
